Spotlight: Unbound Instinct (Sci-Fi Romance)

Unbound Instinct is a side-story in the Corwint Central Agent Files series. Although it takes place on the Corwint timeline between Book 2: Whispers From Exile and Book 3: Tracing The Stars, it can be read as a stand-alone science fiction romance story.

Side-Story-Vex-smallVex was born into servitude, just one of the thousands of Trexen who had been collared and trained into submission by the Xen’dari Empire. An unexpected turn of events offers him the chance for freedom, but freedom comes with its own challenges. Trexen were taught to fear it and fear themselves. Without the Xen’dari collar around his neck or a Master to tell him what to do and how to do it, Vex is faced with having to make his own choices while fighting against the instinctual carnal nature of his Trexen heritage.

Crissadra is the last of her kind, enslaved by a man who uses her charms to subdue the crowds of his tavern and heal the wounds of his gang who attack the territories surrounding their outpost. When Vex steps into her world and kidnaps her into freedom, she must decide if she will accept it or if she will run from it and him.

Together, they will search for a grasp of freedom, an acceptance of themselves and an understanding of each other.

An insistent beep from the lift’s navigation system brought Vex’s thoughts back to the present. Moving his gaze away from the cargo pod in the back seat, he turned his chair around to face front and disabled the beeping alert informing him that he had arrived at his destination. Desolate, rocky fields gave way to a rugged outcropping of sharply cut peaks and the dusty path his lift traveled became cluttered with rounded boulders that jutted against the electro-magnetic stabilizers. The lift jostled hard and a compressed whimper sounded through the air vent of the cargo pod. Continue reading

Welcome to Teaser Tuesday! Brought to you by the Scifi Romance Group on Facebook.

Looking for love during an apocalypse can be dangerous….

This week, I’m giving a peek at a 99cent, M/M romance novella with a post-apocalyptic theme, now available for pre-order.

In True North, Joshua has had enough of people. Especially those desperate, starving bastards who he’s certain ate his dog. When people decide to leave the university town of Lincoln, Nebraska and head south before winter sets in, Joshua heads north instead. When he lands face-first in a snowbank, he welcomes death. What he finds instead is the handsome smile of Chris, a lone goat farmer who’s trying to make the best of life without power.

For the second time in a row, I awake from a dreamless sleep to something cold prodding my cheek. A memory of goats and a shotgun has me popping open my eyelids and flinching away. Two brown eyes, a cold black nose and horrible breath greet me.

“Oh, fuck,” I groggily blink at the dog. “Trying to give me a heart attack?”

“Jenny!” Chris calls from the kitchen. “You leave that boy alone.” Continue reading
